From the Heart & Soul - May 16, 2021
On Sunday, May 16th, members of DMCS met together with Bridges2Harmony at the Des Moines Playhouse for ‘From the Heart & Soul’, a gospel music concert led by guest conductor Devon Steve. You can view the concert recording here.
The Messiah Project - December 12, 2020
Although we were sad not to be performing our annual Christmas with the Choral Society concert, a small group of Choral Society members conceived a video project to explore one of our favorite Christmas choral compositions —Georg Friedrich Handel’s ‘Messiah’. The result was ‘The Messiah Project’, presented as a holiday gift for our friends! We live-streamed the premiere of ‘The Messiah Project’ on December 12th at 7:30 pm. This 30 minute video is freely available for use by educational institutions.
Our December 5 Sing-A-Thon fundraiser was a rousing success, both musically and financially! THANKS to our many sponsors who helped raise of $15,000 for the Des Moines Choral Society.
